    Wildling & Wonder

    Wildling Learning Collective

A living learning community, not a list of subjects.

The Wildling Learning Collective meets Mondays and Wednesdays. It is a small-group, child-led, project-based learning environment for children who learn through movement, making, collaboration, and real-world experience. We are not a free school, an unschool, or a traditional co-op with rotating parent teachers. We are professional educators who have built a curriculum from the ground up, responsive to the actual children in the room and built around how understanding actually develops.

Learning is not separated from living here. The curriculum is shaped by the children in it, the seasons we are moving through, and the skills and subjects that matter, approached through experience, not instruction. No worksheets. No racing through a curriculum. Deep understanding of the systems and ideas that show up across every subject, because that is how knowledge actually works.

    A look inside

Fall Term 2026: Myths, Folktales & Cultural Meaning

Our first term invites children into the rich world of myths, folktales, and cultural storytelling from across the globe, beginning with stories rooted in Africa and early human history. Rather than memorizing facts about cultures, children explore the deeper role stories play in human life: how they help people understand nature, communicate values, preserve traditions, and connect across generations. On Mondays, children explore early migration, ecosystems, survival skills, and how humans have moved through and shaped the natural world. On Wednesdays, they enter the stories themselves: reading, narrating, writing, cooking traditional foods, and responding creatively to what they encounter.

A note on our rhythm: this is the shape of a typical day, not a rule we march to. When the kids are deep in something, we follow it instead of the clock, and that freedom is the whole reason families choose a collective like ours.
